In the light of COVID19, Sport-Medic Physiotherapy clinic has switched appointments to phone or secure virtual telehealth appointments, if it is appropriate for your care. We have been working hard and are very excited to offer this service to both our existing and new clients.
What do I need for a virtual telehealth appointment?
A computer with a webcam OR a smartphone with a camera
Reliable internet connection
What to expect?
The initial assessment will include a very thorough health history and relevant questions related to the presenting problem.
An examination will occur of the effected area which could include presentation of the site, movement abilities, strength abilities and functional abilities. This is a good time to determine if virtual treatment is for you!
We will provide you with at home exercises, education, and advice specific to your problem.
Further virtual treatments will re-examine your progress and /or changes in your condition and additions/alterations are done as needed.
We understand that for some people virtual rehabilitation is not the preferred option but unfortunately due to mandates that stipulate physiotherapy care be given for ‘EMERGENCY SITUATIONS’ only, this will offer you an opportunity to take control of the problem.
In the future when life returns to whatever our new normal may be, this may be your preferred method of treatment as it allows for care in your own home on your own time.
We are very thrilled to offer this service to the community beginning Monday, April 6, 2020.
